Ranchi. Amid the ongoing student movement in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in the JPSC exam, talks were held between the government and protesters. Following the meeting, student leaders stated that the government had accepted their demand to cancel the exam, but they would not end the protest until a CBI investigation into the matter was announced.
Student leaders stated that the government has accepted the demand to cancel the JPSC exam. However, a CBI investigation is now among the protesters’ key demands. Students say that simply canceling the exam will not resolve the matter. They want an impartial investigation into the entire matter and are demanding an announcement of a CBI investigation.
Assembly march announced tomorrow
Student leaders made it clear that they are not prepared to compromise until a CBI investigation is announced. They have also announced a march to the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly on August 10. According to the protesters, the agitation will continue until all their key demands are met.
The government will recommend a CBI inquiry.
Following the meeting, Higher and Technical Education Minister Sudivya Kumar said the government had positive discussions with the students. He added that the government would recommend an investigation by the Enforcement Directorate to investigate financial irregularities in the JPSC examinations.
Now the decision to withdraw the agitation is on the students.
Minister Sudivya Kumar said the government had listened to the students’ demands and issues during talks with them. He said the discussions had been positive and it was now up to the students to decide whether to call off the agitation.
