Ingredients for making bottle gourd pakodas:
One cup bottle gourd, half a cup onion, half a cup gram flour, two tablespoons semolina, two green chilies, coriander seeds, one teaspoon red chili powder, one teaspoon coriander powder, half a teaspoon oregano, half a teaspoon chili flakes, and salt to taste.
How to make bottle gourd pakodas?
Step 1: To make bottle gourd pakoras, first grate one cup of fresh bottle gourd. In a deep bowl, add the grated bottle gourd, half a cup of chopped onion, gram flour (besan), semolina (semolina), chopped green chilies, coriander leaves, and two tablespoons of yogurt. Mix well. Semolina makes the pakoras crispy, so be sure to add it to the batter. Add red chili powder, coriander powder, oregano, chili flakes, and salt to taste. Then, add water little by little to make a thick batter.
Step 2: Place a pan on the stove and add oil. Once the oil is hot, pour a small amount of the batter into the oil. Set the heat to medium-high. Fry the pakoras until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Once cooked, remove them to a sheet of paper to drain off any excess oil.
Step 3: Serve the pakoras hot with coriander chutney.
