Deadlock broken between government and opposition in Parliament, discussion on anti paper leak bill tomorrow
New Delhi. The deadlock that has been going on since the beginning of the current Monsoon Session of Parliament has now been broken. Opposition parties have agreed to discuss the Anti-Paper Leak Bill. On the initiative of Speaker Om Birla, floor leaders of major political parties have agreed to discuss the Anti-Paper Leak Bill in the House.

The discussion on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2026 against paper leaks can begin on July 28 at 12 noon. During the proceedings of the House, Speaker Om Birla had urged all the parties that this issue is related to crores of students, youth of the country and transparency of competitive examinations. In such a situation, it is appropriate to have a comprehensive and meaningful discussion on this. The Speaker had also urged both the ruling party and the opposition to find a way through dialogue to start the discussion by 5 pm. After this the Speaker himself talked to the floor leaders of different political parties. The result was that both the ruling party and the opposition agreed to discuss this bill and it was decided that a detailed discussion on the bill would begin at 12 noon on Tuesday.
This bill has been brought with the aim of effectively curbing paper leaks, cheating, organized examination mafia and other unfair means in public examinations. During the discussion on Tuesday, various parties can also put forward their suggestions and amendments on the provisions of the bill. After discussion, the government will respond to these suggestions and after this the bill will be presented to the House for approval.
Let us inform that in the Prime Minister’s Office, Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh had introduced this bill when the Lok Sabha proceedings resumed at 12 noon. Dr. Jitendra Singh introduced this bill amidst the uproar of the opposition and despite the appeal of the Speaker, the opposition members remained stuck in the well. The Speaker had announced adjournment of the proceedings first till two, and then till five o’clock.
