IND vs ZIM: VVS Laxman praised Vaibhav Suryavanshi, said – tremendous change in understanding and maturity of the game in 6 months

Harare: India’s interim head coach VVS Laxman has praised young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his brilliant performance during the Zimbabwe tour. Laxman said that in the last six months, there has been tremendous improvement in Vaibhav’s maturity, understanding of the game and ability to take decisions under pressure.

15-year-old Suryavanshi played a key role in India’s 3-0 clean sweep in the T20 series against Zimbabwe. He was awarded both ‘Player of the Match’ and ‘Player of the Series’ awards.

151 runs in three innings, played the match winning inning of 81 runs in the last match

Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 151 runs in three innings at an average of 50.33. His brilliant inning of 81 runs in the third and final T20 match of the series proved to be the foundation of India’s victory.

This performance came after the tour of England, where on his first international tour, he could only play innings of 13, 14 and 15 runs and was dropped from the final T20 match.

Great journey from IPL to international cricket

Laxman said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi first played the Under-19 World Cup and after a few months he proved his talent in the IPL.

He said that playing against the best bowlers in the world has boosted Vaibhav’s confidence and he has continuously developed himself as a better player.

Vaibhav did not want to leave the field despite injury

VVS Laxman revealed that despite suffering an injury in the last T20 match, Vaibhav wanted to remain on the field.

However, on the advice of the team physio, he had to leave the field. Laxman said that this makes it clear how strong his desire to contribute to the team is.

Was disappointed at missing the century

The interim head coach said that Vaibhav was disappointed after missing out on a century in the final match. The team management explained to him that his career was still long and he would get opportunities to score many centuries.

Laxman expressed confidence that Vaibhav can create many big records in international cricket in the coming years.

The future of Indian cricket is strong

VVS Laxman said that India has a large army of talented players, who can take Indian cricket to new heights in the next 5 to 10 years.
