New Delhi: Indian cricket team’s explosive batsman Sanju Samson has spoken openly on the ongoing discussions regarding his place and selection in the team. Sanju has clearly said that he wants to play cricket on his own terms and has decided to stay out of the ‘rat race’. His statement has come at a time when there is constant speculation about his place in the Indian T20 team, especially after the arrival of young players, there is a lot of discussion about his position in the playing-11.
Let us tell you, Sanju Samson said that he had decided even before the 2026 T20 World Cup that he would not be a part of this blind race. “I just want to enjoy the game. I am 31 now and have achieved a lot. I have a few more years of cricket left, so I will play on my own terms,” he said. Sanju also added that no one will tell him how to bat, rather Sanju will take decisions for himself.
On the question of Vaibhav Suryavanshi joining the team and being left out of the playing-11 on the England and Zimbabwe tours, Sanju responded boldly. He said that he is not planning for the T20 World Cup of 2028 right now, because no one knows anything about the future. Sanju recalled that after the 2024 World Cup, he never thought that he would play the 2026 World Cup, but circumstances changed and he played an important role in India winning the title. In the end he said that no one can take away his achievements from him.
