Toothpaste claims exposed! Big revelation in Bangladesh report: Carcinogenic ‘microplastics’ found in 76% samples

According to a comprehensive study conducted by the Environment and Social Development Organization (ESDO), microplastics (ultra-fine particles of plastic) have been found in most of the toothpaste samples sold in the market. A total of 34 toothpaste samples from 19 major brands manufactured in Bangladesh, India, Thailand and Vietnam were included in this investigation. Scientific investigation conducted at the Laboratory of Environmental Health and Ecotoxicology of Jahangirnagar University found that microplastics were present in 26 out of 34 samples (about 76.5 percent). Local vs foreign brands: Microplastics found in 22 out of 25 local products made in Bangladesh. Samples from other countries: Microplastics have been confirmed in 1 out of 5 samples from India, 1 out of 2 samples from Thailand and both from Vietnam. Children’s toothpaste is also unsafe: It is a matter of concern that plastic particles were found in 4 out of 6 toothpaste samples made especially for children.
