According to investigators, the incident occurred on Aug. 4, when the suspect drove the tourist in his vehicle and kept his bag and belongings as security until the fare was paid, New Greek TV reported.

Police said that the driver took advantage of the passenger briefly leaving the vehicle, abandoned him and drove away with his belongings, Tovima news site reported.

Police located the suspect later that day.

The stolen Hermès handbag and Rolex watch, valued at around €75,000 (US$86,000), were later recovered and returned to the tourist.
