Rumours about Dhanush entering politics began a few weeks ago after a fan club flag featuring his image and the slogan Ennampol Than Vaazhkai went viral online. The viral flag led many people to believe it was a newly launched political party flag.

Director and Dhanush fan club leader Subramaniam Siva dismissed the rumours, saying the flag has been used by fans for nearly 15 years at weddings, film releases, ear-piercing ceremonies and other celebrations. He explained that fans created a smaller vehicle-friendly version for this year’s fan meet, which sparked confusion and speculation online.
