I am tea – poem by Grihalakshmi

i am tea

From hobby to peace

I am tea-

The heartbeat of millions and crores of hearts.

The freshness of the morning comes from me,

So the tiredness of the evening consumes me and goes away.

Whatever be the occasion – wedding, happiness or sadness or any small family celebration,

I will always be needed.

Or rather, my fans are found everywhere.

I am life in winter,

Request in the rain,

And sometimes in summer I get cravings.

You must have often heard friends saying-

“Dude, I'm craving tea, let's drink it and come back.”

Some friends are found chatting with me at a tea stall,

So some people reach five star hotels to taste me.

Guests should be welcomed and there should be no mention of tea,

So hospitality seems incomplete.

Sometimes I miss you even at midnight.

The doctor also advises the patient to have tea and biscuits.

And to relieve his stress, he himself orders two-four cups a day.

Be it police or lawyer,

Let's take “tea-water” in my name only.

However, under my cover, they take a little too much.

During long journeys I become a necessity for people,

And even after returning from a trip, I ask for it with great enthusiasm.

Provides relief from mild headache and cold.

Ginger, basil, clove and cardamom

Enhances my qualities further.

I find my fans in every season.

In winter I become a lifeline for many people,

People get warmth in their body by drinking me.

It rains and there is no mention of me,

How can this happen?

Whenever rain showers fall,

People remember me before the pakodas.

“Come on, make tea.”

Often this sound is heard first.

I am tea-

Sometimes relief from fatigue,

Sometimes a gathering of friends,

Sometimes the companion of loneliness.

I am tea-

Special request of every house,

A small desire of every heart.
