Viral Video: A new video has surfaced in the case of death of a cow after colliding with the Scorpio of a government doctor in Meow area of Badaun. In this, the animal is seen trapped under the SUV and the local people are trying to save it. In the footage, Dr. Rahul Siddharth, Medical Officer-in-Charge (MOIC) of Usawan Community Health Center, is seen sitting on the driver’s seat, while the cow is trapped under the vehicle. Many people can be seen lifting a part of the Scorpio to bring out the beast. At one place, there is also a danger of the vehicle overturning during rescue.
Angry mob attacked the doctor
Following the incident, an angry mob attacked the doctor and vandalized Siddharth’s SUV, following which he was rescued by the local police. The villagers had accused him of driving under the influence of alcohol. However, the medico-legal investigation conducted by the police reportedly did not find alcohol in his system.
Siddharth was on medical leave
Siddharth was on medical leave since May and returned to duty on Tuesday. After completing his joining formalities in front of the Chief Medical Officer, he was going to Usawan CHC when the accident happened near Meow at around 2 pm. Police said that the cow suddenly came in front of the vehicle.

The injured cow later died. However, his body was buried without postmortem examination, raising questions on the police response. Postmortem could have helped in finding out the cause of death and the extent of his injuries.
Preventive action started
Police have initiated preventive action against four people for disturbing peace. Station House Officer Madhav Singh Bisht said that no complaint has been received from the doctor yet. PFA President Vikendra Sharma termed this action as one-sided and demanded investigation of the entire matter including the death of the cow without any discrimination.
