What happened on Phuket-Delhi flight?
Let us tell you that on August 4, during Air India's Flying from Phuket to Delhi flight, the altitude of the plane suddenly decreased by about 300 feet. Several passengers and crew members were injured in the incident. The incident has been classified as a serious aviation incident and is being investigated by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB).

After the incident, psychoactive substance screening test of both the pilots was conducted. The flight commander's initial test yielded similar results, following which a confirmatory test was conducted. Later reports revealed that marijuana was found in the commander's sample. The pilots have been removed from flying duty until the investigation is completed.

Now all pilots will be investigated
After this development, Air India has decided to further expand its investigation system. Under the new step, all pilots of Air India and its budget airline Air India Express will have to undergo testing for psychoactive substances. This testing will be conducted not only after any special event, but also during training and on other scheduled occasions.

The airline's pilots can be tested at different designated locations including the training center in Gurugram and their respective bases.
