Washington. US President Donald Trump has said that thanks to Allah, America has erected a steel wall in the Strait of Hormuz Maritime Route and will maintain it in future also. He has claimed American control over this important sea route. In a post on Truth Social, he praised the success of the US Navy operation and claimed that it was being described as a “wall of steel”. He said that now Iran cannot do anything about it.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that the US controls this vital waterway, which is essential for the export of oil, gas and other goods from the Middle East. On the other hand, Iran has completely rejected Trump's claim. Actually, Iran wants to implement a toll system in the Hormuz Strait. That is why he has attacked those ships many times. Iran says it is blocking its preferred path of retaliation for the war launched by Trump on February 28.
Iran will have to pay the price
Meanwhile, Trump claimed control over Hormuz and said that if Iran tries to change the situation, it will have to pay a price. He said, “We have full control over the Strait of Hormuz. They have no control over it. We run it. If Iran ever tries to do anything, it will be 'blown up'.” He said that America is in a stronger position at the moment and claimed that Iran has lost its previous influence in the region. Trump said, “We are in a very good situation right now. We have a country in front of us that was dominant in the Middle East for 50 years… It is no longer dominant in West Asia.”
No final agreement between America and Iran
It is noteworthy that such comments have come amid the ongoing tension in the region after the war between America, Israel and Iran started in late February. The US and Iran have so far failed to reach a final agreement to end the conflict, while ongoing disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz continue to threaten global energy supplies. The Strait of Hormuz is a vital sea route for global energy supplies, through which under normal circumstances a large part of the world's supply of crude oil and liquefied natural gas passes.
What is Iranian media saying?
Iran's state broadcaster Press TV quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai as saying that the waterway remained open until February 28, 2026. He also criticized Western sanctions. Baghai said, “It should not be forgotten that the situation around the Strait of Hormuz and everything that happened to it was caused by the military aggression of the US and Israeli regime, which is still continuing. As far as Iran's claims of imposing conditions are concerned, they should raise this matter with their own government.” Tension over the strategic waterway still remains a major focus of conflict. Meanwhile, talks are ongoing between Tehran and Oman on arrangements for the movement of ships through this important strait.
