New Delhi. The country is celebrating 80th Independence Day today. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation for the 13th consecutive time from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort of Delhi on Saturday. After hoisting the tricolor, the Prime Minister addressed the nation and presented India's development journey, achievements and future resolutions. With his 13th consecutive Independence Day address from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi has created a new record among non-Congress Prime Ministers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been continuously addressing the nation on Independence Day from the ramparts of the Red Fort since assuming power in 2014. This year's celebrations especially highlighted the completion of 150 years of the national song 'Vande Mataram'. Also, special emphasis was laid on the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047 and the role of the youth of the country in this.
21 gun salute after hoisting the tricolor
After reaching the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag. After this a 21 gun salute was given. Flowers were also showered from the helicopter during the ceremony. After this, while addressing the nation, the Prime Minister spoke about India's achievements and vision for the coming years.
'Vande Mataram' echoed at the Red Fort
This time the special feature of the Independence Day celebrations was the collective singing of 'Vande Mataram'. A large number of people sang the national anthem together at the Red Fort. NCC cadets and 'My Bharat' volunteers also took part in the singing of 'Vande Mataram'. On the occasion of completion of 150 years of the national song, its historical importance was especially highlighted.
PM Modi's special focus on 'youth power'
'Youth power' was also given prominence in the Independence Day celebrations. The energy, expectations and contribution of the youth in accelerating the development of the country and achieving the goal of 'Developed India 2047' was underlined. Overall, the 80th Independence Day celebrations focused on the historical legacy of 'Vande Mataram', youth power and the resolve for a developed India 2047. Prime Minister Modi's 13th consecutive address from the ramparts of the Red Fort made this ceremony special from the political and historical point of view.
