Actor Pankaj Tripathi shared a funny moment with actress Rekha through social media on Saturday. In this, the actress is seen playing Pankaj Tripathi’s English teacher.
Indian Film Festival Melbourne posted a video on its official Instagram page, which was also shared by actor Pankaj Tripathi on his Instagram Stories. In the video released, actress Rekha is asking Pankaj to repeat what she says in English after her.
Actress Rekha says, “Whatever I am saying now, Pankaj ji, you should say it in English.” Pankaj Tripathi then repeats the line, “To all the lovely people of Melbourne.” After this Rekha says, “No, in English. Come here and say, to all the beautiful people of Melbourne.”
Pankaj Tripathi says jokingly, “Mam, I am a student of Hindi medium. I will speak wrong.”
After this both of them said, “To all the lovely people of Melbourne. There is no business like business, so welcome to our world and thank you very much for inviting us into your world. Thank you very much. See you soon. Love you. Jai Hind.”
The 17th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is being held in Australia from 13 to 23 August 2026. The prestigious festival has honored veteran actors like Rekha, Rani Mukherjee and Rishabh Shetty with special awards for their stellar cinematic contributions. At the same time, Pankaj Tripathi was awarded the prestigious ‘Artist of Distinction’ award for his extraordinary contribution and brilliant acting journey. This is the first international award of his career and his first appearance at the festival.
As part of the festival’s signature Independence Day tradition, Rekha will hoist the Indian national flag in Melbourne on August 15. On this occasion, people from the Indian community, Australian guests, filmmakers, artists and cinema lovers will also be present. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne will end on 23 August.
