India U20 men to play two friendlies against Yemen in Bengaluru

The Indian U20 men’s football team will face Yemen in two friendly matches at the Center for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru on August 20 and 23. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 16:30 and will be held behind closed doors as part of preparations for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers.

These friendlies will be the third and fourth fixtures of the team’s current training camp, following two victories against Singapore at the same venue on August 3 and 6. The Blue Colts won those matches 3-0 and 1-0 respectively, according to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) website.

India and Yemen have previously met once at this age group, ending in a goalless draw during the AFC U19 Championship Qualifiers in 2017.

After these matches, the Blue Colts will travel to Tashkent on August 26 to acclimatise ahead of the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers. The campaign will begin with a match against Syria on August 31, followed by games against Uzbekistan on September 3 and Bangladesh on September 6.
