Ambedkarnag, Read: On Sunday, there was a sensation in Majre Rudha of Dhamruwa Gram Panchayat of Malipur police station area due to the death of 94-year-old mother of IPS officer Ashutosh Mishra, Indra Devi, under suspicious circumstances. The dead body of the old woman was found lying on the bed inside the house. A cloth was stuffed in his mouth and marks of injuries and scratches were found on his body. Prima facie suspicion of murder after robbery is being raised as gold chains, bracelets, earrings, rings and other jewelery were found missing from the house. As soon as information about the incident was received, there was panic in the police department.
According to the information, Indra Devi lived alone in the house. His son IPS Ashutosh Mishra had reached the village on Independence Day. He participated in the program organized in the school run by his mother and returned to Lucknow in the evening. Pyari Devi, who worked at home, reached there at around 9 am on Sunday morning. The main door was locked from outside. When she opened the door and went inside, she did not find Indra Devi on the throne. On search, she was found lying in an unconscious state on the bed in the hall. There was a cloth stuffed in his mouth. Despite many efforts, when there was no movement in the body, Pyari Devi informed the neighbor Ram Nayak. Ram Nayak reached the spot and took out the cloth from the old woman's mouth. After this, people nearby informed the incident to IPS officer Ashutosh Mishra.
Ashutosh Mishra reached the village at around 1 pm. After seeing the mother's dead body, he inquired about the jewelery normally worn on the body. During this period, gold chains, bracelets, earrings, rings and other jewelery were found missing. An injection mark on his hand and scratch marks on his body were also found. Considering the circumstances, he decided to conduct post-mortem of the dead body.
Top police officials inspected the incident site
Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Malipur police station incharge Shashank Shukla, area officer Jalalpur Anoop Kumar Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police East Tejveer Singh and Superintendent of Police Prachi Singh reached the spot. Police officers inspected the spot and interrogated the people nearby. Ayodhya Zone IG Somen Verma also reached the spot at around 6 pm. He carefully inspected the inside of the house as well as the roof and surrounding areas. He instructed the police officers to disclose the incident as soon as possible.
Forensic and SOG team collected evidence
Considering the seriousness of the incident, SOG, surveillance and forensic teams were called to the spot. The teams investigated the incident site and collected necessary evidence. Along with scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby, the police is also gathering information about the activities of suspicious people. Police have registered a case against unknown accused under relevant sections including murder and started investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem. The actual cause of death will become clear after the post mortem report comes. Superintendent of Police Prachi Singh is monitoring the case. Police officials have claimed to uncover the incident soon.
