New Delhi: Amid the Russia-Ukraine War, Ukraine on Sunday carried out the biggest air attack on Russia so far. Hundreds of drones fired by Ukraine targeted many areas of Russia, killing at least 6 people. After the attack, a massive fire broke out in the huge warehouse of Russia's largest e-commerce company 'Wildberries' located in Podolsk near Moscow, after which a huge plume of black smoke was seen in the sky. The attack caused a fire at Wildberries' main logistics center in Kolidino, Podolsk. Apart from this, there are also reports of fire in a pharmaceutical warehouse in Domodedovo and an industrial center in Voskresensk.
Claim to have shot down more than 800 drones
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, their forces destroyed 822 Ukrainian drones overnight. At the same time, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that about 600 drones were heading towards the Russian capital, one-third of which were shot down in the Moscow region itself. Moscow Governor Andrei Vorobyov said air defense shot down or disabled 187 drones across the region.
5 people died in Rostov
Ukraine's attack was not limited to Moscow only, but three cities in the south-western Rostov region were also targeted with more than 150 drones. Rostov Governor Yuri Slyusar confirmed that 5 people were killed in the attack and several houses and a railway station were damaged. In response to the attack, the Russian military also fired missiles and drones at Kiev, Kremenchuk and Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, two people were killed and 14 injured in a Russian missile attack in Kryvyi Rih.
