Rampurhat. The body of Ashish Banerjee, five-time MLA elected on TMC ticket and former deputy speaker of West Bengal Assembly, was found at the party office in Rampurhat in Birbhum district on Sunday morning. According to the police, the body of Ashish Banerjee was found hanging. It is not yet known why the big leader of Mamata Banerjee's party, Ashish Banerjee, committed suicide. Ashish Banerjee was also the Education and Agriculture Minister in Mamata Banerjee's government. He was defeated in the recently held West Bengal Assembly elections.
