Hardoi: A case presenting an example of brother-brother relationship and courage has come to light from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. Here a young man kept his younger brother awake for about an hour by slapping him after a snake bite. He did this not out of anger, but on the advice of doctors. Ultimately the young man's life was saved due to timely treatment.
Bitten by a snake while working in the field
This incident is being reported from Jyoti Nagar of Kotwali area in rural Hardoi. 21 year old Arun had gone with his elder brother Akash to water the fields. At around 2 pm, while picking up a sack of grass, Arun was bitten by a poisonous snake hidden in it.
As soon as the snake bit him, Arun's condition started deteriorating. Without wasting any time, Akash started trying to take her to the hospital. Meanwhile, medical store operator Shivam Sharma made both the brothers sit on his bike and helped them take them to the medical college.
Doctors said- don't let the patient sleep
After reaching the hospital, the doctors immediately started treatment. As the effect of poison increased, Arun started feeling sleepy and he was closing his eyes again and again. Doctors instructed the family not to let him sleep under any circumstances.
After this, Akash kept waking up his brother continuously. For about an hour he slapped Arun more than 150 times. The hospital staff also kept trying to keep the patient conscious.
Saved life by giving 15 anti-venom injections
According to doctors, the snake poison had spread a lot in Arun's body. Considering his condition, he was given 15 anti-venom injections. Doctors said that usually in such cases about five injections may be required, but Arun's condition was serious.
Akash's efforts in reaching the hospital on time, along with constant monitoring and treatment played an important role. After treatment, Arun's condition improved and his life was saved. This incident shows how important it is to seek immediate medical help in an emergency. In case of snake bite, instead of using home remedies, the patient should be taken to the hospital without delay.
