Major car brand recalls over 20,000 vehicles due to crash risk

A major car brand has recalled over 20,000 vehicles due to a crash risk.

Motorists of the Tesla model are being warned that they may have serious issues with their car that may impact their chances of being involved in an accident.

Elon Musk’s Tesla has confirmed that 20,349 Model 3 (2017-2023) and Model Y (2020-2023) vehicles are being recalled for safety reasons.

This is because the headlight low beams could be too bright, exceeding the maximum light output, and potentially reduce visibility for oncoming drivers henceforth increasing the risk of a crash.

Due to this issue with the headlights these vehicles do not comply with the requirements of FMVSS regulation number 108 (Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment).

A fix is currently being sussed and owner notification letters are reportedly being sent out to customers in mid-September.

The recall is not the only one currently being carried out by a major car brand.

Toyota are recalling more than 508,000 Toyota Camry Hybrid vehicles over fears that an instrument cluster could fail to display critical safety information.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) warned that this issue could also lead to an increased risk of a crash.

The vehicles will this issue are from product years 2025 and 2026 and it means cars could potentially deactivate hazard lights, turn signals, seatbelt warning system and smart key reminders.

Car dealers will update the car software for free and send out letter to all owners also in September.
