Mahindra Racing secured third place in the 2025/26 FIA Formula E Teams’ World Championship, ending the season with a double podium at the London finale.
Nyck de Vries finished second and teammate Edoardo Mortara took third in the final race of the GEN3 era at the ExCeL London Circuit. The result gave Mahindra a total of 252 points, its highest-ever single-season tally and a third-place championship finish, matching the team’s best result in Formula E.
The double podium also marked Mahindra’s first podium finish in a decade.
Double podium seals season breakthrough
Mahindra had a difficult opening day of the London double-header, with de Vries finishing 13th after a late Full Course Yellow disrupted his strategy. Mortara recovered from 18th on the grid to finish seventh.
The team bounced back strongly on Sunday. De Vries and Mortara progressed through the qualifying Duels to set up an all-Mahindra final, with de Vries taking pole for a front-row lockout. It was his fifth pole of the season and Mahindra’s fifth overall.
Both drivers maintained their positions through the early stages before Mortara briefly moved into the lead. De Vries eventually regained first place, but a late Attack Mode deployment by Taylor Barnard allowed him to overtake both Mahindra cars and claim victory.
The second and third-place finishes nevertheless secured the team a crucial 42-point haul from the London finale.
Mahindra finished the season with two wins, five additional podiums and five pole positions. Mortara ended fifth in the Drivers’ Championship with 137 points, while de Vries finished seventh with 115.
“Today is an important result for Mahindra Racing,” Team Principal and CEO Frederic Bertrand said. “To finish the season with our first front-row lockout, both cars on the podium and third in the Teams’ World Championship says a great deal about the level this team has reached.”
Mahindra will now turn its attention to the GEN4 era after closing the GEN3 chapter with its best points tally and championship result.
