Said- RSS and BJP have control over the education system.
New Delhi. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to the state Chief Minister Hemant Soren in connection with the students' protest in Jharkhand, urging him to personally meet the representatives of the protesting students and take appropriate steps to resolve their issue.
The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha emphasized that the students' protest in Jharkhand is peaceful and their demands are legitimate. He had written this letter on August 14, which was released by Congress on Monday. The Congress is part of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led government in the state.
In a letter to Soren, Gandhi said that the youth of the country are its future and we should express solidarity and support with them in this hour of crisis. He said, the Congress Party believes that the right to peaceful demonstration enshrined in the Constitution is one of the central pillars of our democracy. Therefore, we have extended our full support to the students who have been protesting against paper leaks and irregularities in the education system in the last few months.
Gandhi said that Congress also believes that the Indian education system has been captured by the RSS and BJP and has been turned into a tool for exploitation and oppression of students. He said that it is no longer as strong an education system as it was a decade ago.
The student demonstration is peaceful
In the letter to Soren, Gandhi said, as you know, students in Jharkhand are also protesting against irregularities in the state recruitment examinations. Their protest is peaceful and their demands are legitimate. Gandhi said, I appreciate that the Jharkhand government has started a dialogue with them through the committee formed by you. I believe that consensus has been reached on many demands of the students. However, the protest continues and some students are still on an indefinite hunger strike.
meet the protesters
The former Congress president said, I am writing a letter to suggest that you personally meet the representatives of the protesting students. This will further strengthen the government's commitment to address their remaining concerns. Describing the youth of India as the future of the country, Gandhi said that in this hour of crisis, all possible solidarity and support should be given to the students. He said, please try your best to listen to them and take appropriate steps to resolve this issue.
