Country. Shahzad Poonawala, who was the national spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party, has finalized his decision to leave the party. He has sent a letter to BJP President Nitin Nabin requesting him to be relieved from active primary membership along with the post of national spokesperson.
Had also resigned on 30th July-
Poonawala said that he had also offered his resignation on July 30, but the party leadership did not immediately accept it and asked him to reconsider the decision. After long discussion and deliberations they have now decided to stick to their decision. He has cited his personal and financial circumstances as the reason for his resignation.
Expressed gratitude to senior leaders including PM Modi-
In his resignation letter, Poonawala expressed gratitude to senior party leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Nitin Nabin, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda and BL Santosh. He said that he will always be grateful for the platform, respect and opportunities he got from BJP and Sangh Parivar.
'I am leaving the party system, not the idea and the person'-
Clarifying his decision, Poonawalla said that he is separating from the organizational system, but his support towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ideology of BJP will continue. His message was – “I am leaving the party system, but not the ideas and the person.”
Now preparing to go to private sector-
Poonawala said that due to urgent financial and personal circumstances he will now enter the private sector. However, he indicated that in the future, wherever possible, the Prime Minister will continue to support the vision and actions of Modi and the BJP.
