Kanpur. Fazalganj police station and surveillance team have arrested two accused with fifteen and a half kilos of hashish. The price of this hashish in the international market is fifteen crore rupees. Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner of Police Central Atul Kumar Srivastava said that this charas was being brought via Nepal and there was a plan to sell it in the cities of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
The police have arrested Asmit Gautam, son of Rakesh Kumar Gautam, resident of Duda Colony, Swarn Jayanti Vihar, Yashoda Nagar police station, Naubasta, Kanpur Nagar, age 26 years and Ayush Tiwari, son of Santosh Kumar Tiwari, resident of 392 Kazikheda Lalbungla, Chakeri Kanpur Nagar, age 25 years, along with this hashish. Deputy Commissioner of Police Central Atul Kumar Srivastava said that more in-depth information is being done about the interstate syndicate of charas smugglers.
This illicit hashish was being brought in a bag in an Alto car. During interrogation of the accused, information was received that the accused do event management work. Accused Asmit Gautam is a gym operator and has been running the gym for the last 4-5 years, and in the greed of earning more money, he buys illegitimate hashish from Nepal at a cheap price and supplies it at higher prices in the nearby districts and some districts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
During interrogation, information was also received that Navit Gautam, brother of the arrested accused Asmit Gautam, was arrested in February 2026 in Sirohi district of Rajasthan with 20 kg of illicit hashish and is currently detained in Sirohi district jail. After Navit Gautam went to jail, illegal hashish business was being done by Asmit Gautam and the accused were using the money earned from illegal drug trade to fulfill their expensive hobbies.
