David Warner: David Warner stuck again, court imposed fine, will have to pay so many lakhs of rupees…

Former Australian star cricketer David Warner is once again in trouble. He has been fined 1500 Australian dollars (more than Rs 1 lakh) after being found guilty in the drink and drive case. Warner, 39, pleaded guilty last month to a ‘middle range’ offense of drink-driving. On Tuesday, Judge Claire Farnan formally convicted Warner in Sydney’s Waverley Local Court and fined him. This decision has also been confirmed in the court records related to the sentence.

This matter is of April. Warner was driving a van and had reportedly stopped before reaching the random breath testing site. After this the police conducted a breath test to check his alcohol intake. After investigation, he was arrested and taken to the police station. Police told the court that Warner had drunk three glasses of wine before driving. In this case, Warner accepted his mistake and faced legal action.

Interlock license condition up to 12 months
The court has also ordered Warner to keep the license ‘interlocked’ for 12 months. Under this, they will have to drive a vehicle which will be fitted with a special breathalyzer device. This device prevents the vehicle from starting if alcohol is found in the driver’s breath. Warner’s lawyer Awais Ahmed told the court that the decision to drive was ‘reckless, impulsive and extremely foolish’. He said Warner has also completed the Traffic Offender Program and has accepted responsibility for his mistake.

Judge warns Warner of serious consequences
Awais Ahmed also mentioned the media coverage and personal comments made against Warner after the case. He said that the former cricketer has faced public criticism and the discussion regarding this matter may continue in future also. Judge Claire Farnan said one wrong decision on the road could have serious consequences. Although no one else was harmed in this incident, Warner had to suffer the consequences. After the hearing, Warner left the court without talking to reporters.
