Eighth Pay Commission's big step on the salary of central employees, application deadline ended

Central employees and pensioners are eagerly waiting for the recommendations of the Eighth Pay Commission. Although the Pay Commission will submit its final recommendations to the government next year, but before that it is visiting different states of the country and holding important meetings. Through these meetings, the Pay Commission is directly meeting the central employees and various employee organizations and brainstorming deeply on their opinions and recommendations.

In this sequence, the Pay Commission team is going to visit Jaipur, Rajasthan on 31 August and 1 September 2026. However, the last deadline of August 18 to apply for attending this important meeting has now ended.

Important meeting will be held in Jaipur, only these people will get a chance

Actually, the Eighth Pay Commission had issued a notification on its official website on August 3. According to this notification, only those employee organizations, federations and unions which are located or registered in Rajasthan and which have already submitted their memorandum before the Commission can participate in these meetings to be held in Jaipur, but till now they have not had personal interaction with the Commission.

After the expiry of the deadline of August 18, the Commission will now select the eligible organizations after examining the applications received. After this, detailed information related to the Jaipur meeting will be sent only to the selected representatives.

How was the application done and what is the next process?

Eligible organizations had to register their request to attend this meeting through the official online portal of the Commission. During the application process, it was made mandatory for them to provide the 'Unique Memo ID' related to their submitted memorandum. The selected organizations will be informed about the exact venue and time of the meeting through their email.

The Pay Commission has also made it clear in its notification that similar meetings will be organized in other states and union territories of the country in the coming months, updated information about which will be given from time to time on the Commission's website. Therefore, only employees' organizations of Rajasthan can participate in the Jaipur meeting to be held on 31st August and 1st September.

The main objective of the meetings and when will the recommendations be implemented?

The main objective of these meetings being organized in different parts of the country is to collect important suggestions from employee organizations related to salary, allowances, service conditions and pension under the Eighth Pay Commission. The Commission will consider all these suggestions in detail and may also include the suggestions which are found appropriate in its final report.

It is noteworthy that the Central Government had constituted the Eighth Pay Commission last year. This commission can submit its recommendations to the government by the first half of next year. These recommendations are likely to be implemented effectively from January 1, 2026.
