Jharkhand government has canceled 44 examinations by issuing eight notifications late in the night. These also include such examinations which were conducted by Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and outsourced agency TDPL since 2014. Following the controversy over JPSC-JSSC and the 23-day long agitation by students, the canceled recruitments included appointments to the posts of Drug Inspector, Assistant Professor, Deputy Collector, Dental Doctor, Assistant Engineer, Civil Judge, Additional Public Prosecutor and Forest Range Officer.

Recruitment for technical posts was abolished

It is noteworthy that the government led by CM Hemant Soren issued eight notifications late in the night. The posts of Lecturer, Senior Scientific Officer and Assistant Conservator of Forests have been canceled in Government Polytechnic. At the same time, recruitment for other administrative and technical posts has been abolished. It has been said in the notifications that a request will be made to the High Court to set up a fast track court to hear cases related to irregularities in JPSC-JSSC.

The report will be submitted to the government within two months

Under the notification, there is a provision for formation of an internal vigilance cell in JPSC-JSSC. A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of senior IAS officer Amitabh Kaushal for reforms in JPSC-JSSC. This committee will submit its report to the government within two months.

Reason for cancellation of results

It is noteworthy that the state government had made several important announcements after the cabinet meeting held on Monday. In this, the cancellation of JSSC-Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination was important. This examination was one of the important demands of the students' protests. Along with this, all the examinations conducted by the external agency TDPL and all the results published by it have been cancelled.
