Big gift from UP government, 1 big good news for women

News Desk. The government is going to take a big step to promote milk production in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and to provide employment to women in rural areas. There are preparations to establish 42 new Mini Nandini Dairies in Ramnagari from the city to the villages. Through this scheme, emphasis is being laid on promoting animal husbandry, increasing the income of farmers and creating employment opportunities at the local level.

Women's participation has also been given special importance in these dairies. Under the scheme, it has been made mandatory for 50 percent of the dairies to be operated by women. In such a situation, this scheme can become a better medium of self-employment for women in rural areas.

50 percent grant will be given on setting up dairy

The biggest feature of the scheme is government financial assistance. For setting up Mini Nandini Dairy, the government is providing 50 percent subsidy on the fixed project cost. The cost of the project has been fixed at around Rs 23.60 lakh.

Beneficiaries will be able to rear cows of these breeds

Rules have also been fixed regarding the breed of cows in Mini Nandini Dairies. Under this, Sahiwal and Gir breed of cows are being given priority. Beneficiaries are also contacting other states to purchase animals of these breeds. The department is also providing necessary assistance and training related to the purchase of cows and dairy operations, so that the beneficiaries do not face practical problems in running the dairy.

Scope of employment will increase for women

The provision of 50 percent participation of women in the scheme is considered important for rural women. With this, women will be able to contribute to increasing the income of their families through animal husbandry. Besides, getting the opportunity of self-employment by living in villages will also boost employment at the local level.
