ED's big action against Azam Khan, raid on Johar University along with 10 locations in UP-Delhi

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday raided several locations linked to Samajwadi Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Azam Khan. According to officials, around 10 premises are being searched in connection with the investigation of a case registered under PMLA.

According to ED, the investigation is related to alleged misuse of money related to government contracts and transaction of money through private contractors. Monitoring the transactions of contractors and trust

According to officials, during the investigation, information about financial transactions between some contractors and the trust has come to light. It is alleged that some contractors who benefited from government contracts gave money to the trust and institutions associated with the university. These amounts were allegedly used for charity and construction works.

According to the information, during the search the ED team is examining financial documents, transaction records and digital devices. The agency is trying to find out where the money allegedly related to government money came from and how it was used.

Jauhar Trust also under investigation

Let us tell you, in this case, the name of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust based in Lucknow has also come up and Azam Khan is the chief trustee of this trust. His family members and some associates are also associated with the trust. It is being said that the trust runs Mohammad Ali Jauhar University and a public school in Rampur.

This action of ED is part of the investigation into the alleged financial transactions between government contracts, contractors and the trust. At present the search operation is going on and further action can be taken on the basis of documents and digital evidence found during the investigation.
