Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has already started drawing the line of his politics and strategy for the upcoming assembly elections of 2027. On one hand, he is continuously highlighting the shortcomings of BJP, Yogi government and his government before the public. On the other hand, Akhilesh is firmly following the party line and telling the people what he will do for them if he comes to power. There is also a third thing in this, which Akhilesh is explaining, if not completely but partially, as his party's strategy.
In fact, on August 15, while addressing the media in Rasulabad, Kanpur Dehat, he said that Samajwadi Party will focus more on rural seats than urban seats in the assembly elections. SP will use its full strength to win these seats.

Who will be the priority of SP?
During this time, he gave a statement, 'If a socialist government is formed, the highest priority will be given to farmers, poor and people living in villages.' With this statement, the SP chief said that he will make every effort to win rural seats by paying less attention to urban seats because farmers and village people live in rural seats.
urban and rural seats
If we talk about 2022 assembly, Samajwadi Party had won 111 out of 403 seats. Out of these, 77 seats were won in rural areas. Apart from this, semi-urban/town and some urban areas won. In the elections, SP was able to win only a few out of 86 completely urban seats of UP, whereas BJP, by capturing most of the urban seats, proved that even today its dominance on the urban seats continues.

SP issues and village people
Samajwadi Party, which has been out of power in UP for ten years, is this time preparing to corner BJP on issues like Ram Temple, job, education, electricity and DAP fertilizer. To form a hat-trick government, CM Yogi Adityanath is also continuously touring and reviewing the districts. These are all issues which affect people in rural areas the most. Even today, issues like electricity, jobs, education and fertilizer are big issues in villages.
The way people tag the electricity department on social media and show the problem of no electricity in the villages. It is clear that even under this government electricity is not coming as per requirement. Farmers are lining up at the district headquarters and local shops for fertilizer. Recently, Akhilesh Yadav had instructed SP leaders to go among the public on these issues.
This is the reason why SP focuses more on rural seats than urban ones.
