Rampur, Read. The troubles of jailed Samajwadi Party National General Secretary Azam Khan seem to be increasing once again. On Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided Johar University in Rampur. Apart from this, ED teams also reached the locations associated with people close to Azam Khan. It is being told that apart from Rampur, action is being taken simultaneously at about 10 places in the state including Saharanpur and Delhi. This action is being taken in connection with the complaint and investigation related to money laundering.

The connection of this action of ED is being said with the complaint made in the year 2019. City MLA Akash Saxena had complained about money laundering regarding Azam Khan and matters related to him. After this the investigation progressed and now the ED action has intensified. The complaint demanded investigation into financial transactions related to Azam Khan and other matters including Jauhar University. In this sequence, ED teams reached different places on Wednesday.
Raids on people close to Azam Khan also
ED's action is not limited to Johar University only. The agency teams are also investigating the premises belonging to people close to Azam Khan. Apart from Rampur, raids are being conducted simultaneously at many places including Saharanpur and Delhi. During the action, ED teams are examining documents and other related records. However, official information about what was recovered during the raid has not been revealed yet.
Azam Khan's troubles may increase
Azam Khan is already in jail and legal action is going on against him in many cases. In such a situation, the latest action of ED is being seen as another big legal challenge for them. At present the ED action is going on. Only after the completion of the investigation will it be revealed which documents or evidence related to financial transactions have been found by the agency and what further action is taken in this matter.
