Devprayag. On Wednesday, heavy rocky debris suddenly fell from the hill on the road near Bhallegaon Bagwan on Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway. Due to the debris, traffic on the highway was completely disrupted and long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the road.

It was told that debris along with big stones suddenly fell on the road from the hill near Bhallegaon Bagwan. Within no time the road was closed and vehicles got stuck on both sides.
As soon as information about the incident was received, Devprayag police reached the spot. In view of security, the police stopped the vehicles at different safe places in the tehsil area.
Work of removing debris continues with JCB-
After the closure of the highway, the National Highway Authority team has started the work of opening the route. The debris and rocks accumulated on the road are being removed with the help of JCB machines on the spot.
Police and administration teams are also keeping an eye on the spot. Officials say that traffic on the highway will be restored smoothly as soon as the debris is removed.
