Tezzbuzz Desk – BJP has already intensified work on its election strategy for the Uttarakhand Assembly elections 2027. The party has made the 23 seats lost in the 2022 assembly elections the biggest target. Now there will not only be a general review on these seats, but the responsibility of each assembly constituency is being handed over to a senior leader of the party.
For this, BJP has prepared a micro management model of 'one seat-one in-charge'. That is, instead of managing the entire state together, the party will focus on the different political situation, organization and local issues of each assembly seat.
Special attention on 23 seats including Khatima
BJP has intensified its preparations with the aim of returning to power in Uttarakhand for the third consecutive time. In the meeting of the state core group, it was decided to focus special on those 23 assembly constituencies, including Khatima, the seat of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, where the party was defeated in 2022.
Along with strengthening the organization on these seats, senior leaders are being given the responsibility of direct monitoring. The party wants that the ground situation of these seats should be understood well before the elections and the weaknesses should be removed.
Big leaders got responsibility
BJP has made a strategy to field its big leaders on 23 weak seats. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been given the responsibility of Khatima. Whereas MP Anil Baluni has been given the responsibility of Badrinath and State President Mahendra Bhatt has been given the responsibility of Piran Kaliyar seat.
Apart from this, responsibility has been given to MPs, ministers and senior officials of the organization in the remaining assembly constituencies also.
Its purpose is not just to campaign during the elections, but to understand the political pulse of the concerned assembly constituency.
Separate 'report card' for each seat
Under BJP's strategy, every in-charge will have to collect detailed information about his assembly seat. This will include aspects like the status of the organization, local resentment, major issues of the public, potential candidates, social and caste equations and booth level strength.
In this way, instead of making a strategy considering all the 70 seats of Uttarakhand as one unit, the party is moving towards preparing a separate election plan for each assembly constituency.
Trying to learn a lesson from the defeat of 2022
In BJP's internal assessment, reasons like local dissatisfaction, resentment over the ticket and weakness of the organization were discussed behind the defeat on some seats in 2022.
This time the party wants to solve these problems much before the elections. This is the reason why senior leaders are already being deployed on weak seats.
BJP's focus is on taking the government's schemes and achievements to the booth level through the organization as well as removing the resentment of local workers and leaders.
5 big signals from Delhi meeting
BJP's recent strategy gives five big indications of the party's election plan –
FirstThe party is already making aggressive preparations for the 2027 fight.
SecondThere will be constant monitoring of senior leaders on 23 weak seats.
thirdCoordination between the government and the organization will be further strengthened.
fourthEfforts will be made to remove local resentment and organizational shortcomings before the elections.
fifthA separate political report card will be prepared for each assembly constituency.
BJP's goal is clear – a hat-trick of power in 2027. Now it has to be seen how much this micro management model started on 23 weak seats helps the party in equalizing its previous defeat.
