Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was shifted back from Shifa International Hospital to Adiala Jail on Friday after medical examination. According to a report in 'Geo News', as soon as he reached the hospital, a team of six doctors examined him. After examination, the doctors made it clear that there is no need to admit him in the hospital and it is safe to keep him in jail. After this Imran was taken back to Adiala jail. Imran has been lodged in Adiala jail for the last several years.
According to the order of Pakistan Supreme Court, Imran was brought from Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail to Islamabad's Shifa Hospital under tight security late on Thursday night. Security was tightened as soon as he reached the hospital. All the lights of the hospital were switched off, the staff were asked to surrender their mobile phones and the media persons present outside were removed from there. Pakistan government again challenged the order
The Pakistan government on Thursday filed a review petition in the Supreme Court, demanding changes in the order to send Imran Khan to a private hospital for treatment. Following the Supreme Court order, the government initially said that it would implement the court order. But later she filed a review petition in the Supreme Court, seeking reconsideration and withdrawal of the order.
According to reports, the government's first review petition was returned by the court's registry. The reason given for this was that the petition did not include the complete set of required documents, i.e. paper books. Imran Khan's lawyers allege that the jail administration did not allow them to meet the former Prime Minister.
After the Supreme Court deadline ended, Imran Khan's lawyer Khalid Yusuf Chaudhary said that he was present outside Adia jail, but he was not allowed to meet Imran.
According to Chaudhary, he wanted Imran Khan to sign the contempt petition and power of attorney. But the jail administration did not allow him to meet them. The lawyers alleged that the purpose of preventing them from meeting Imran was to stop him from filing a contempt petition in the Supreme Court regarding his treatment. “We will still file a contempt petition in the Supreme Court,” he said.
