Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday condemned the 'extreme appeasement' policy of the Congress party. He said that the Congress Working Committee's decision to sing only two stanzas of 'Vande Mataram' is tantamount to repeating the historical mistake that sowed the seeds of partition.
He said that in 1937, the Congress Party divided 'Vande Mataram' into two parts in the name of Muslim appeasement and laid the foundation for the partition of the country. It was from here that the two nation theory gained strength, which ultimately led to the partition of the country and the birth of Pakistan.
He criticized this decision of the Congress Working Committee, calling it 'anti-national and a blatant violation of the law made by the Parliament'. The Union Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rectified the decision taken by the Congress Party in 1937, 80 years after independence.
In a statement issued by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the people of the country will no longer tolerate opposition to this reform. BJP condemns this decision of Congress Party and is determined to oppose it in front of the public and also in the Houses.
Questioning the patriotism of the Congress, the Union Minister said that the party's decision only reinforces its appeasement policy. It is very surprising that the Congress Party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi is once again vigorously pursuing the politics of appeasement in the country.
He appealed to the countrymen to remember that the country had once made the mistake of dividing 'Vande Mataram' into two parts and the country had to suffer serious consequences for that mistake. The countrymen should now unite and raise their voice against this decision of the Congress Party and make it clear that the politics of appeasement will no longer be tolerated.
