Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with CEOs and founders of 20 space startups of the country at Seva Tirtha on Friday. During this, the growing capabilities of Indian private companies in the space sector, the increasing demand for Indian space technology across the world and future opportunities in the space sector were discussed.

According to the Prime Minister's Office, the heads of startups working on the technology of making rockets, reusable space vehicles and launches, satellites, space-related electronic systems, making rocket engines with new technology, information related to space and defense, removing space debris and providing information about local weather and climate with the help of artificial intelligence participated in the meeting.

Startup leaders welcomed the government's decision to allow private companies to operate in the space sector. He said that this decision has created many new opportunities for the industry. He also said that companies from many countries of the world are eager to adopt and use the technology developed by private space companies in India. The Prime Minister asked space entrepreneurs to focus on finding new uses for their technology and developing technology that makes life easier for common people.

Modi also stressed on increasing cooperation between the space industry and other sectors related to the development of society. He said that companies working on space debris removal technology can work with environmental organizations. Similarly, companies developing space technologies for farming can work with agricultural universities and government departments to help farmers make better decisions and increase production. The Prime Minister said that India should create such an environment where when the world thinks about space, its eyes are on India. He said that India's space sector can become a hub to attract talent, companies and investment from all over the world.

He suggested increasing cooperation between space companies with Atal Tinkering Labs. The Prime Minister said that this will help in developing curiosity and interest in space in children from an early age.
