Under PM Awas Yojana-Rural, the dream of poor families in Bihar to have permanent houses will now be fulfilled faster. The Central Government has set a target of constructing 11 lakh 18 thousand 937 pucca houses in Bihar for the financial year 2026-27. For this, the Central Government will provide assistance of Rs 13,427 crore to Bihar. In a program organized at the Samrat Ashok Convention Center in Patna, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary inaugurated the griha pravesh of 2 lakh 35 thousand completed houses. During this, house keys were also given to the beneficiaries and acceptance letters were also given to the newly selected beneficiaries. The Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan for this scheme.
The Chief Minister started the program organized at Bapu Auditorium by lighting the lamp and pouring water on the sapling. During this, a short film made on the achievements of PMAY-G was also shown. Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan handed over the target paper for the financial year 2026-27 for Bihar to the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said that the Central Government has set a target of constructing 11 lakh 18 thousand 937 pucca houses in Bihar and for this an assistance of Rs 13,427 crore will be provided. He told that this amount will be sent to the accounts of the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister said that this work is progressing with the cooperation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and for this he expresses his gratitude to both of them.

Allotment of 50 lakh houses since 2014
The Chief Minister told through figures how much faster the work has been done now compared to earlier. He said that under Indira Awas Yojana, only 30 lakh pucca houses were built in Bihar from 1986 to 2014 i.e. in 28 years. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, allocation has been made to build 50 lakh pucca houses for the poor families of Bihar from 2014 to 2026. The Chief Minister said that in the 2018 survey, 19 lakh families were identified who were deprived of permanent houses. With the support of PM and Shivraj ji, those families have also got the benefit of PMAY-G. The state government contributes 40 percent of the cost of the houses built under the scheme.
In the programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated the griha pravesh of 2 lakh 35 thousand houses completed in the financial year 2026-27. Also the keys of the houses were symbolically handed over to many beneficiaries. Approval letters were also given to the newly selected beneficiaries. The Chief Minister said that having a permanent roof over their heads will give new heights to the dreams of poor families. He further said that owning a home not only provides security but also increases respect and self-confidence. Our aim is that every needy should get a permanent house, only then Bihar will become prosperous and India will become developed.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the cooperation program in his address. He said that this program is to give justice to the people and show the right path to the officials. Under this program, it is necessary to dispose of every application within 30 days. Action is taken against officers who do not do so. Till now 6 lakh 42 thousand applications have been received, out of which 96 percent have been executed. So far, first notice has been given to 9500 officials, second notice to 950 and third notice to 350.

Jeevika Didi's earnings increased
The Chief Minister said that 1 crore 81 lakh Jeevika Didis in Bihar are associated with self-help groups. Of these, more than 30 lakh didis have become Lakhpati Didis. He demanded from the Center that arrangements should be made for haats to sell the products of Jeevika Didis at religious and historical tourist places like Nalanda, Buxar, Bhagalpur, Motihari. With this, Didis will get market and their income will increase.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan praised the work of Bihar government. He said that the cooperation program of Bihar is very good. Other states should also adopt it. Shivraj said that women empowerment has happened rapidly in Bihar. Here the annual income of lakhs of Jeevika Didis has exceeded Rs 1 lakh. The central government will fully cooperate in the development of Bihar.
The program was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav, Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar and Additional Chief Secretary H.R. Srinivas also addressed. Many ministers and MLAs including Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Cooperative Minister Ramkripal Yadav, Rural Affairs Minister Sunil Kumar, Revenue Minister Dilip Jaiswal, Social Welfare Minister Dr. Shweta Gupta were present on the stage.
