Karnataka IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar was missing since August 20. His last location was found at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. There has been no contact with him after that. According to media reports, Gyanendra had booked a ticket on a flight to Delhi. At present he is the Director of MSME under the Department of Industries and Commerce.
Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge also confirmed this. But by evening the situation changed. Priyank Kharge said in a post on his X account that the officer has been contacted. He had come to his hometown due to emergency reasons.

Earlier, Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge had said, 'News related to this are coming in the media since this morning. Till now the family or anyone else has not given any formal complaint. Unable to contact them in any way. His last location was found at Kempegowda International Airport. The case is being investigated.'
After contacting the officer, Priyank Kharge said, 'There have been reports that an IAS officer has gone missing in Karnataka. Later the concerned officer contacted the government and clarified that he had taken leave due to some important work in the family and had to immediately go to his hometown. During this period he was not available on his official phone. This led to some confusion and speculation regarding his whereabouts. Now he is in touch with the government and has clarified the situation.

Gangwar, a 2016 batch IAS officer, was the controller of examinations in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) before becoming the MSME director. He was removed from this post in March this year.
