He said that people should not only depend on the government and administration regarding the quality of food items, but it is important for them to be aware themselves.
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh made this comment amid the ongoing discussion about fake cheese and analog dairy products. He questioned people as to how aware they are about the quality and genuineness of the food items they are purchasing. According to him, consumers should be aware of their food habits and the products available in the market.
'Don't trust the government'
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said on the issue of adulterated food items that people should not just wait for government action. He asked people to decide for themselves what to eat and should be careful while purchasing food items. He also stressed the need to launch a large-scale campaign against adulteration. He said that if an effective campaign against food adulteration is conducted across the country, its widespread impact can be seen.
The former MP also expressed his opinion regarding the availability of milk in the country. Citing the gap between milk production and demand, he raised concerns about the use of counterfeit or alternative dairy products.
