Background and journey of the scheme
- July 2013 (Start of Scheme): Sriram Group started this educational scholarship initiative in July 2013 from Chennai. It initially benefited around 2,400 students in partnership with over 40 regional transport associations across the country.
- 2015 – 2016 (National Expansion): The scheme was expanded nationally in major commercial centers like Mumbai, Delhi, Mysore and Nagpur in collaboration with organizations like the Bombay Goods Transport Association (BGTA).
- From 2021 (digital and inclusive): The scheme was expanded into an online and offline CSR (CSR) model. This included not only school education, but also professional degree courses like ITI, Diploma and Engineering.

Eligibility Terms and Conditions
- Occupation of Parents: The student's parents should be commercial transport drivers (truck, bus, auto, taxi, LCV/HCV drivers) or small transporters.
- Driving License: Parents must possess a valid Commercial Transport/ Commercial Driving Licence.
- Educational Qualification: Students must have secured at least 60% marks in the previous examination.
- Family Income: The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs.4 lakh.
- Level of Education: This scholarship is applicable for school students from class 8th to 12th as well as ITI, Diploma, Degree and Engineering students.
Scholarship Form and Financial Aid
- Class 8th to 10th: ₹ 3,000 per annum
- Class 11th and 12th: ₹ 3,500 per annum
- ITI / Diploma / Polytechnic: ₹ 15,000
- Degree / Engineering (UG Course): ₹ 30,000 to ₹ 35,000 per annum

- Filling Information: Personal information, educational details and commercial vehicle/license details of parents should be filled accurately in the form.
- Uploading Documents: Scanned copies of all required documents should be uploaded.
- Submission: Application should be checked and submitted. After verification, the scholarship amount is directly credited to the student's or parent's bank account.
