Good news for women employees of UP, new rules implemented

Lucknow. The government has taken two important decisions for the women of Uttar Pradesh. On one hand, government women employees have been given major relief in maternity leave, while on the other hand, free bus travel facility will be provided for women on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Both the decisions are expected to provide relief to the women of the state at different levels.

The two-year requirement for the second child is over.

The state government has approved changes in the old rules related to maternity leave for women government employees. Now, for taking maternity leave for the second child, the mandatory gap of two years between the end of the first maternity leave and the second child has been abolished.

According to the first rule, 180 days of maternity leave for the second child was available only when at least two years had passed after the end of the maternity leave of the first child. Due to this condition many women employees were facing problems.

This decision of the government has come after the order of Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, in which depriving the eligible female employee of maternity leave only on the basis of not having a gap of two years was not considered as per the rules.

You can get leave twice during your entire service period.

According to the rules, an eligible female government employee can get maternity leave of 180-180 days twice during her entire service period. Cases related to adopted children are also included in this. The new change will provide relief to eligible women employees by removing the two-year requirement for taking leave for the second child.
