After the earthquake, many train services were delayed and some trains ran at slow speed. Some express services operated by Tobu Railway were stopped. Parts of Saitama and Chiba prefectures and central Tokyo also recorded a magnitude of less than 5.

Prime Minister ordered to assess the damage
No irregularities were found at the Tokai No. 2 nuclear power plant in Ibaraki Prefecture and the Fukushima Daiichi and Fukushima Daini nuclear plants in north-eastern Japan. Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi instructed officials to assess the damage and provide timely information to the public. Japan's weather agency urged residents to remain alert for earthquakes less than 5 on the seismic intensity scale in the coming week, especially in the next two-three days. The earthquake was felt across a large part of the country, including north-eastern and central Japan.
