UP News: CM Yogi's gift to women on Rakshabandhan, they will be able to travel free in bus for two days

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while giving special gifts to mothers, sisters and daughters on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, has announced the facility of free travel in State Transport Corporation buses. Under this, from the night of 27th August to 28th August, women passengers and their accompanying companion will be able to travel for free.

In a high-level review meeting on Friday, the Chief Minister reviewed various issues of the state including law and order, waterlogging, flood relief, education system and availability of sugar and gave necessary directions to the officials.

The Chief Minister said that Rakshabandhan is a festival of love between brothers and sisters and keeping in mind the convenience of women on this occasion, the state government has made arrangements for free bus travel. He instructed the transport department that passengers should not face any kind of problem during this period.

In view of the rains in the state, the Chief Minister gave instructions to set up additional pumping stations in areas facing waterlogging problems and to get the drains cleaned immediately. He said that the drainage system should be effective so that people do not have to face problems.

There should be no negligence

While directing all the District Magistrates to remain alert, Chief Minister Yogi said that there should not be any negligence in relief and rescue operations in flood affected areas. He said that relief material and government assistance should be delivered to every affected family on time. In the meeting, the Chief Minister clarified that there is no shortage of sugar in the state and there is no need for people to panic. He said that currently the stock of 179.38 lakh quintals of sugar is available in the sugar mills of the state.

Sale of 35 lakh quintals of sugar

He said that 23.60 lakh quintals of sugar is available in cooperative sugar mills, 5.28 lakh quintals in corporation sugar mills and 150.50 lakh quintals of sugar is available in private sugar mills. Apart from this, 235 lakh quintals of sugar has been sold during June and July, a large part of which is still available in the open market.

Gave instructions for strict action

The Chief Minister directed that if necessary, operation of sugar mills should be started from October 15 so that adequate availability remains in the market. CM Yogi instructed the officials to take strict action against black marketing and hoarding of sugar. He said that a strict vigil should be kept on those spreading rumors regarding sugar shortage.

He directed that no dealer will keep stock for more than 30 days and will not store more than 400 tonnes of sugar at a time. At the same time, big consumers will also not be allowed to keep stock for more than 15 days. The Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates to verify the warehouses of wholesalers and retailers and sugar mills and submit the actual stock report.

Spoil the atmosphere by spreading rumors

While reviewing the education system, the Chief Minister said that the District Magistrate should inspect the schools regularly. He said that providing better facilities, clean environment and quality education to children should be the priority of the administration. The Chief Minister also directed to take strict action against those who spoil the atmosphere by spreading misleading videos and rumors on social media. He said that any attempt to spread confusion and unrest in the society will not be tolerated.
