Sambit Patra said that the first resolution in the first office bearers meeting was passed in honor of India's pride and honour, the great mantra of Vande Mataram. In the last few months, some historic decisions have been taken regarding Vande Mataram.
He said, “This year is being celebrated as the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram. Respect, feeling and emotional connection towards Vande Mataram is being seen in every corner of India.”
Sambit Patra said, “I called Vande Mataram a mantra because at the core of this mantra is country, patriotism. For the first time in the history of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA, all the 6 stanzas of Vande Mataram were sung in the premises of the Red Fort.”
He informed that on August 15, 2026, for the first time in the history of India, the entire Vande Mataram, including all 6 verses, was sung.
BJP spokesperson made serious allegations against Congress. He said, “As the sun rose we heard, appreciated and bowed to the entire Vande Mataram, while as the sun set on August 15, on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, a video from the Congress office surfaced on social media, where Sonia Gandhi was seen asking to stop the Vande Mataram after two verses.”
Sambit Patra said, “We saw how when the tricolor was being hoisted in the presence of former Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, when Vande Mataram started, after two verses, Sonia Gandhi was heard saying 'stop-stop', as if some wrong word had been spoken.
He said that a resolution was passed at the CWC meeting on August 19, which was similar to the one passed by the Congress Working Committee in Calcutta in October 1937. The proposal was that we will not sing Vande Mataram of 6 verses, we will divide it and will trim it and sing only 2 verses of Vande Mataram.
Sambit Patra said, “How long will the Congress keep itself hidden under the cloak of patriotism? Today the cloak of patriotism has completely fallen from the Congress and the whole country is watching the politics of appeasement within it. But the Bharatiya Janata Party will not allow this to happen.”
He said that there will be no compromise on Vande Mataram. Sambit Patra alleged that Rahul Gandhi himself had said in a closed-door meeting that Congress is a party of Muslims. But this does not mean that you should divide the country in this way. Mahatma Gandhi had talked about singing Vande Mataram. It was never a means to divide Hindus and Muslims.
