Lucknow. Before Rakshabandhan, Yogi government has made a relief announcement for the women of Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to provide safe and easy travel to women during the festival and to complete many important arrangements on time.
First good news: Women will get free bus travel
On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, instructions have been given to provide free travel facility to women passengers in UP Roadways buses from the night of 27th August to 28th August. The special thing is that women passengers will also be able to travel with one companion for free. The aim of the government is that the sisters can easily reach their maternal home or family without any extra expense. For this, instructions have been given to the transport and police departments to handle the arrangements with mutual coordination.
Second good news: Special attention will be kept on security
Special arrangements will also be made for the safety of women passengers during Rakshabandhan. Instructions have been given to increase police surveillance on major routes and keep the Anti Romeo Squad active. Bus drivers will also be investigated. No driver will be allowed to drive while intoxicated. Instructions have also been given to conduct verification of auto and taxi drivers along with drivers of private buses.
Strictness regarding waterlogging and floods also
In the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the situation of waterlogging in many districts of the state. He directed the officials to identify low-lying areas and install additional pumping stations if needed. The drains in which drainage is affected due to garbage or silt have been asked to be cleaned immediately.
