Ajith Kumar Escapes Unhurt In High-Speed Racing Crash In Europe; A Look At His Dangerous Love For Motorsports

Ajith Kumar’s passion for racing has never been a secret. But the actor’s latest outing on the track ended with another frightening crash. According to reports published on Sunday, August 23, Ajith was involved in a high-speed collision during an endurance racing event in Europe. His car reportedly lost control and collided with another vehicle, although the actor escaped without serious injury.

The incident has once again put the spotlight on the unusual second career that Ajith has built away from cinema, one that has seen him compete on international circuits despite the risks involved.

Ajith Kumar Has Survived Several Racing Crashes

This is far from Ajith’s first accident behind the wheel. In January 2025, the actor survived a dramatic crash during a practice session for the 24H Dubai endurance race. His Porsche reportedly spun several times before hitting the barriers at around 180 kmph. Just weeks later, he was involved in multiple crashes during the Porsche Sprint Challenge in Valencia, Spain. In one incident, his car collided with another vehicle and overturned twice. Ajith was able to walk away and continue racing.

Later that year, during the GT4 European Series at Italy’s Misano circuit, his car collided with a stationary vehicle. Once again, he escaped unhurt. In a moment that drew praise from the racing community, Ajith was seen helping marshals clear debris from the track after the crash.

Why Does Ajith Keep Racing Despite The Risks?

Ajith’s relationship with motorsport dates back decades. He began racing motorcycles in the early 1990s before moving into single-seater competition and later competing in Formula BMW Asia and the FIA Formula Two Championship. In 2024, he launched Ajith Kumar Racing, returning to professional endurance racing after a long break. The team made its 24H Series debut at the 2025 Michelin 24H Dubai, with Ajith serving as both team owner and driver.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Ajith once explained his mindset after a crash: his first concern is checking whether he is hurt and whether the car can continue. He admitted that his family’s worry is something he thinks about, but said racing remains deeply important to him. On the film front, Ajith was last seen in Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly.
