Uttarakhand News: The holy festival of Rakshabandhan was celebrated with great enthusiasm and intimacy in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached two different programs in the city on Sunday and shared this holy festival with the mother power of the state. During this, women gathered in large numbers tied Raksha Sutra on the wrist of the Chief Minister and wished for his long life and good health. Expressing his gratitude to all the sisters, the Chief Minister said that this love and faith of the sisters is the real strength of their work.
Chief Minister attended two big events in Dehradun
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami started his day with the Rakshabandhan ceremony organized at Chaudhary Farm on GMS Road. After this he reached Survey Stadium in Hathibarkala, where another grand program of Rakshabandhan was organized. Huge enthusiasm of women was seen at both the places. The Chief Minister said that today being among the sisters, he feels as if he is standing among his own family. Service to the public and mother power is the biggest resolution of his life.
Rakshabandhan is not just a tradition, it is a festival of responsibility.
Addressing the function, the Chief Minister said that Rakshabandhan is not only a festival of the relationship between brother and sister. This is the name of resolve of unwavering trust, respect and security. Relationships become stronger not just by rights but by fulfilling responsibilities with full devotion. Women respect is the strongest foundation of our Indian culture. The home and society where women are respected always moves forward on the path of progress.
Struggle and leadership of the women of Devbhoomi
The Chief Minister said that the women of the hills have always faced every difficult situation bravely. Today, women are progressing in every field of work along with managing the household. Be it the issue of national security or the field of sports and industry, sisters are proving their talent everywhere. He said that whenever the name of the mother power of Uttarakhand comes, the entire state becomes proud.
Central and state welfare schemes
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many concrete steps have been taken for women empowerment in the country. Ujjwala scheme has provided relief from kitchen smoke and Jal Jeevan Mission has provided tap water to every household. Under the housing scheme, women have got the ownership rights of houses. Along with this, Uttarakhand government is also running many schemes for the economic and social development of women, in which Rural Livelihood Mission and Chief Minister Udyamshala are prominent.
Women are becoming financially strong
Giving details of the ongoing efforts to make women self-reliant in the state, the Chief Minister said that today about 5 lakh women of the state are working by joining self-help groups. More than 3 lakh sisters in the state are providing financial support to the family by becoming Lakhpati Didi. Apart from this, the state government has made a provision of 30 percent reservation in government jobs for women and has given legal protection to sisters of all classes by implementing the Uniform Civil Code.
Youth employment and transparent recruitment process
The Chief Minister said that the real happiness of a family comes when its children get employment after getting education. The state government has given government jobs to more than 34 thousand youth in its last five years. To maintain complete honesty in the recruitment process, the country's strictest anti-cheating law has been implemented so that no hardworking student can be cheated.
Sisters got the gift of free bus journey
Making the festival more special, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made a big announcement for women on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. He said that on August 28 and 29, women across the state will be able to travel in Uttarakhand Roadways buses without paying any fare. With this facility, sisters will be able to easily go to their maternal home and celebrate the festival. He said that he always stands with his sisters, not as a Chief Minister but as a brother.
