In the third session of the first day of the second Test match, Sri Lankan fast bowler Lahiru Kumara bowled a short ball to Rishabh Pant who was batting. Pant tried to play a shot on this ball, but instead of his bat, the ball went straight to his left wrist. Pant was seen groaning in pain after the injury, after which he had to retire hurt and go out of the field. The team physio treated him on the field but due to the pain not subsiding, Pant had to leave the field.

India scored 300 runs on the first day
