A case came to light from Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh where three people who were preparing for Gokushi were caught by the police. The police got an inkling that preparations were being made to slaughter a cow and reached the spot. Police cordoned off the area. During this time the accused encountered the police team. The accused attacked the police and were caught in a retaliatory attack.
During the encounter, the accused opened fire on the police as soon as they saw them. During retaliation, two accused were shot in their legs and both were arrested. The third accused escaped taking advantage of the darkness and the sugarcane field. The police are now interrogating the arrested accused and trying to find out who else is associated with them in this case.
How were the accused caught?
This incident happened on Monday when the police station in-charge, along with the Sarurpur police force, was checking suspicious people and vehicles at the Harra-Khiwai turn. At the same time, information was received that on the road leading to the fields from Barnawa-Binauli road, three people were preparing to slaughter a cow by tying it to a tree.

One accused injured in encounter
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police team reached the spot and laid siege. According to the police, as soon as the accused saw the team, they started firing at the policemen. The police retaliated in self-defense. In this, Khivai resident Taslim was shot in his right leg and Bhura's left leg. Both of them were arrested in injured condition and sent to the Community Health Center in Sarurpur for treatment.
Police is busy searching for the absconding accused
During the encounter, the third accused took advantage of the darkness and fled into the sugarcane field. Police searched for him in the surrounding fields but could not locate him. The police team is continuously conducting raids to arrest him.

Which weapons were recovered?
Police have recovered two 315 bore pistols, two shells, two knives used in cow slaughter, a gundaasa, a plastic bag, a live cow and a motorcycle without a number plate from the possession of the accused. Also, according to the police, 15 cases including theft, cow slaughter, weapons possession and gang related cases are registered against Tasleem. There are 10 cases registered against the second accused Bhura. Police are saying further legal action.
