Phase-3 police station has arrested three accused including the husband in the case of murder of the second wife in Mamura village of Sector-66, Noida. According to the police, the accused husband suspected that his second wife was having an illicit relationship with a young man. Due to this suspicion, on July 27, he along with his associates strangled the woman to death and threw the body in the canal. One accused is still absconding in the case.
According to the police, Kanti Devi, resident of Mamura village, had given a complaint at the Phase-3 police station on August 20. Kanti was married to Subhash Chandra, a resident of Firozabad, in the year 2013. After some time of marriage, Subhash got married for the second time. The name of his second wife is also mentioned as Kanti.
Who registered the case?
When the first wife came to know about the second marriage, she filed a case against Subhash in the Etah court. Meanwhile, he became suspicious as his second wife was not seen for a long time. Besides, Subhash's brother Deepak was also coming to him continuously. The suspicion of the first wife increased further after the accused threatened the first wife. After which the first wife complained to the police that the husband might have murdered the second wife along with his brother.
When the police took Subhash into custody and interrogated him, he confessed to the murder of his second wife. During interrogation, he told that he drives a tempo and lived in Mamura with his second wife. Both of them had no children. Subhash told the police that he suspected that his second wife was having an affair with a young man living nearby. There was a dispute between the two regarding this matter on July 27. It is alleged that during a dispute he strangled his wife to death.
Where was the body thrown?
After the murder, the accused, with the help of his associates, kept the body in a tempo and threw it in a canal from Kot bridge near Bulandshahr border in Dadri police station area, about 50 km from Mamura. A few days later, on July 31, the body of an unidentified woman was recovered from a canal in Surir police station area of Mathura district. The post mortem report confirmed that the woman died due to strangulation. Mathura police had also registered a case in the case of murder and hiding evidence.
Who is absconding?
Noida Police reached Surir police station in Mathura with the accused. The items and photographs related to the dead body recovered there were matched with the photographs found of the accused. After identification, the police arrested Subhash and his two associates Sarvind and Neeraj in the case. According to the police, Subhash's brother Deepak is still absconding and teams have been deployed to arrest him. Central Noida Zone ADCP Swatantra Kumar Singh said that three accused have been arrested in the murder case, while the search for the absconding accused is going on.
